Genshin Impact 3.6: Baizhu Ascension And Talent Materials Farming Guide

Baizhu is going to be the new 5 star Dendro Catalyst character in Genshin Impact's 3.6 update. He is the owner of Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue Harbor and Qiqi's guardian - Hoyoverse has been teasing the character ever since Liyue.

Similar to Yaoyao, he is going to be a Dendro healer. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase a complete guide for farming Baizhu's Ascension and Talent materials.

Most of Baizhu's materials are available for farming and players can pre-farm them right now if they plan to pull for him.

Nagadus Emerald

Nagadus Emerald is the ascension stone for all Dendro characters. Baizhu is not an exception.

Players can get them by doing the following:

Defeating Jadeplume Terrorshrooms or Dendro Hypostasis
Nagadus Emerald can be randomly obtained from Chests, Daily Commissions, and Events.
Players can convert other types of gemstone into Nagadus Emerald using Dust of Azoth, or merge lesser emeralds into higher tier ones, at a rate of 3:1.

Evergloom Ring

This is a new material that will be added to the game once Baizhu is available.

Violet Grass

Violetgrass grows on the cliffsides of various mountainous regions throughout Liyue. Players can buy 5 Violet Grass every 3 days from the following 3 shops: Babak, Herbalist Gui, Verr Goldet.

Fungai Spores

Players can find a lot of fungi in Sumeru's rainforest areas, especially near cliffs, trees and water bodies. These enemies drop two types of common materials when defeated, Fungal Spores and Fungal Cores. Prepare to farm this material a lot, as Baizhu needs tons of them for both ascension and talent.

Sumeru Fungi population is high, but if you are looking for extra Fungal Spore, we recommend visiting the Underground Mines of the Chasm.

Teachings of Gold is a Character Talent Material obtained from Taishan Mansion on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The last material to upgrade Baizhu's talent will be dropped by a boss in 3.6.

How good is Baizhu?

Overall, Baizhu is a defensive Dendro support, with both heal, shield and damage boost.

Elemental Skill

Controls a Gossamer Sprite that cruises and attacks nearby opponents, dealing Dendro DMG. After it performs 3 attacks or if there are no opponents nearby, the Sprite will return, healing all nearby party members based on Baizhu’s Max HP.

His skill is a fairly standard "cast and forget" heal, which deals 3 instances of Dendro damage to enemies beforehand. This allows players to complete the rotation and get Baizhu's ascension 4 buff on the team's DPS.

Elemental Burst

Enters the Pulsing Edict state, creating a Seamless Shield that can absorb some damage. The Seamless Shield will unleash a Spiritvein to heal the active character(s) based on Baizhu’s Max HP and attack opponents, dealing Dendro DMG. While in this state, Baizhu will generate a new Seamless Shield every 2s.

Overall, the shield strength of Baizhu is rather weak, however, it is a frequent heal that can definitely deal with the Bloom self-damage. He is much more reliable than Yaoyao if you want a Dendro healer in your lineup.

4th Ascension Passive

Characters who are healed by Healing Holism will gain the Year of Verdant Favor effect: Each 1,000 Max HP that Baizhu possesses below 50,000 will increase the Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG dealt by these characters by 2%, while the Aggravate and Spread reaction DMG dealt by these characters will be increased by 0.8%. This effect lasts 6s.

This is Baizhu's main source of damage buff. Players can gain up to 100% reaction damage for Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon and 40% for Aggravate and Spread. As both Baizhu's skill and burst scales on MAX HP, it is best to stack HP% and ER on his artifact, which is rather easy to do.
